24/01: Legrand collection of model trains on show at BRAFA

Written on in the category Events

On the occasion of the 65th anniversary of the Brussels Art Fair (BRAFA), the Legrand model train collection will run for the first time in over 30 years.

Since 1 July 2019, the King Baudouin Foundation, which owns the Legrand collection, has entrusted NMBS/SNCB with the care of this gem of a collection. Since then, around 30 valuable model engines, carriages and goods wagons have been on display at Train World, the railway museum created by SNCB.

In agreement with the King Baudouin Foundation, part of the collection will be displayed at BRAFA this year. The Brussels Art Fair is famed for the high quality of the works and artefacts exhibited, from antiques to modern and contemporary art via the fine arts and design. On this occasion, the Legrand collection will be working again! A memorable first, then, which will take place at Tour et Taxis from 24 January to 2 February.
