Visit Train World in complete safety

We want to guarantee you a visit in the best conditions and are therefore applying a number of precautionary measures.

We friendly request that you comply with the imposed regulations.


Precautionary measures

  • • All exhibition areas and sanitary facilities are thoroughly cleaned several times a day.
  • • The cash desks are protected with lucite screens.
  • • All museum staff wear the necessary personal protective equipment.
  • • We limit the number of visitors per time slot, so as to control the total number of people inside the museum.
  • • Extra security staff are present in the museum.
  • • The cash desks are open to supply information to visitors and supply/process tickets that cannot be processed online. Please comply with social-distancing rules.
  • • Payment by bank card only. Cash is not accepted for the time being.
  • • For safety reasons, audio guides are not available for the moment. Download the Train World app for iPhone or Android to receive the full audio guide on your smartphone.
  • • In case of strong influence, the acces to certain activities can be closed. 
  • • The Train World shop is currently only accessible to visitors who have booked a museum ticket.


  • • Disinfect your hands regularly. Soap and disinfectant gel are available at many locations in the museum.
  • • Follow the signposted itinerary. Traffic must remain one-way only.
  • • Please comply with the pictograms relating to protective measures: social distancing, OBLIGATION to wear a face mask (for visitors over 12 years old), etc.
  • • Please stand on the ground markings at the entrance, in front of the lifts and in the bookshop in order to keep a safe distance (minimum 1.5 metres).
  • Please buy your entrance ticket online, to reduce queuing as much as possible and keep physical contact to a minimum.

How can you buy a ticket online?


Click on this link and follow these steps:


1. Click on “Tickets Train World”
2. Select a date and a time slot.
3. Select the rate(s) you need and the number of tickets per rate.
4. Click on “Add to shopping cart”
5. Then click “Continue”
6. Confirm your order and pay for your ticket(s)

The rate you want to order is not available online? When you arrive at the museum, order your ticket directly at the cash desk.

Remember to have the necessary identity document or requested card with you.

The time indicated on your ticket is the agreed time of arrival (between 10am and 11am for example), not the length of your visit.

Will all activities and locomotives remain accessible?


If necessary, for safety reasons, access to certain activities / locomotives could be suspended or restricted. This will be clearly indicated.

How can I plan a school or a group visit to Train World? 


School visits are allowed again. Group visits will be admitted again from June 22, 2021.

Is the brasserie open?


No. The Brasserie RN Express is closed until further notice, but other options exist.

Can I come to the museum shop? The Train World shop is currently only accessible to visitors who have booked a museum ticket.
Is it mandatory to book a ticket for your child?

Yes. Children also need a ticket to visit the museum (including children under 6).


Do you need to book online if you have a Museum Pass, a Brussels Card, a Teacher's Card, an ICOM card, a Belgian railworker pass, an Attraction & Tourisme card or a Riebedebie card?


Yes, we ask you to book a timeslot in advance via our website. When you arrive at the museum, present yourself at the cash desk with your card for verification.



Did you buy your ticket from another online platform such as, Get Your Guide, Viator/TripAdvisor, etc.?

Please contact the reseller regarding any changes to your reservation.



You would like to come earlier/later than the indicated time slot on your ticket. Is that possible?

If you arrive earlier/later, we cannot guarantee your access to the museum. We only let in a limited number of visitors per time slot in order to ensure everyone's safety. We very much appreciate you arriving during the time slot you booked.


What are the opening times?

We have kept our normal opening hours and days. You can consult them here.


When is the best time to visit the museum?

Unfortunately, there is no answer as this can vary. When you buy your ticket, the maximum number of visitors allowed in the museum is automatically taken into account.


Can you visit the museum with someone else?

You can visit our beautiful museum with your "social bubble". Remember to stand at least at 1.5 metres away from other visitors and to always respect the recommendations and rules taken by the authorities.


Is it allowed to use the elevators?

Elevators are open for use by only one person at a time.


Is it allowed to use the toilets?

The toilets remain open and are cleaned and disinfected several times a day. Social distancing must also be maintained in toilet facilities.


Are wheelchairs still available?

Yes, we still lend wheelchairs. Wheelchairs are systematically cleaned after use by our cleaning team and used on a last-in-last-out basis.


Should you wear a face mask?

Wearing a mask in museums is mandatory for visitors over 12 years old. Thank you to carry yours during your visit to Train World.
