Opening hours

  • The large ticket hall will not be accessible to visitors on May 22 & 26 and June 10.
  • Train World will be exceptionally closed from Monday June 29, to Thursday July 2, due to dismantling of our temporary exhibition.

Accessibility Inclusive museum

Train World works hard every day to improve the experience for every visitor via an inclusive policy. Train World would like to give every visitor an unforgettable experience. We therefore try to reduce or eliminate as many physical and mental barriers as possible by offering a rich and adapted offer. Explore our various initiatives here.

  • Train World is fully accessible for people with limited mobility.

  • For blind and visually impaired people, there is an adapted guide tour using a feeler bag.
  • Guide dogs for the blind or assistance dogs are allowed.
  • Our website has been fully optimised for use by the blind and partially sighted.
  • For families with deaf and hard of hearing, we have a tailor-made scavenger hunt.
  • Train World organises low-incentive days, where the museum’s scenography is adapted. An adapted floor plan for those days can be downloaded here.

Visit Train World with one of our professional guides. We also offer adapted guided tours for deaf and hard of hearing visitors.

Guided tour at Train World

You can visit Train World with a guide. Our guides speak Dutch, French, German and English. Other languages are available on request.

A guided tour lasts approximately two hours and introduces you to the museum’s highlights. After the guided tour, you are welcome to explore Train World freely (provided your tour ends at least one hour before closing time).

When making your reservation, please indicate whether you would like a guided tour focusing on:

  • the permanent exhibition
  • the temporary exhibition
  • a combination of the permanent and temporary exhibitions

Adapted guided tours for deaf and hard of hearing visitors

Are you deaf or hard of hearing and would you like to visit Train World? Join a guided tour led by a professional guide who is also deaf or hard of hearing. We have deaf guides in Flemish Sign Language and French-Belgian Sign Language.

By public transport

Train World is located directly adjacent to Schaerbeek station. If you are coming by train, it’s just a two minute walk to reach our museum. All info, timetables and prices can be found at belgiantrain.be.

If you’re coming by car, you can park in B-Parking next to the station building. Validate your parking ticket before you leave at the kiosk in our museum and receive a discount. You will then pay for your parking at the payment machine in the car park itself.

! Train World is located within the low emission zone (LEZ) of the Brussels-Capital Region. Check here whether you are permitted to drive in the LEZ.

Looking for a break (eat/ drink) before or after your visit to Train World?
Stop by La Station des Rêveurs, the train station café located at the museum entrance. Enjoy a cosy bar and light local dishes: toasted sandwiches, soups, drinks… Groups can also book a full meal (brasserie dishes, Breton or sweet crêpes).

More than just a café, La Station des Rêveurs is a socio-cultural venue run by La Compagnie des Rêveurs. Expect shows, concerts, cinema, youth activities, games, makers’ markets, social events… Often available at a pay-what-you-can price to stay accessible to all.
